First Friday: Downtown Gives Kickoff

First Friday is a special day of shopping, art and entertainment the First Friday of every month downtown! Many stores stay open late until about 8:00pm. Enjoy a day and evening of culture and activity. Visit a variety of retailers, artist venues and fabulous restaurants, plus music and drinks at all your favorite hot spots!
November's First Friday theme is Downtown Gives!
DTSF and several participating retailers will celebrate the spirit of the holiday season with the Downtown Gives charity program. Downtown Gives is a collaborative effort of Downtown business owners giving back to local charities.
Funds will be raised for The Good Shepherd Center though sales of a coupon book, exclusive to participating downtown businesses. The coupon books will go on sale at participating downtown retailer locations on Friday, November 1 and will remain on sale through the holiday season.
New this year: DTSF will give away a $250 shopping spree! Registration forms are located inside each of the coupon books, and the deadline to register is Monday, December 16th!
This year’s beneficiary is The Good Shepherd Center (GSC), which provides daytime shelter and services for people who are homeless, poor or newly arrived in the Sioux Falls community. Funds raised this holiday season will be allotted for the GSC’s children’s area, to provide a wide variety of educational toys, puzzles, movies and activities in addition to providing the children a safe home-like atmosphere.

Eastbank Art Gallery: The gallery will display "Faces & Figures: Portraying People" by Cheryl Bohlman Longseth and recent paintings by John Rychtarik in November. Meet the artists at a reception from 5-8 p.m. First Friday, November 1. The event is free and open to the public.
