A special day of shopping, art and entertainment downtown! The first Friday of every month many stores stay open later until 8:00pm. Enjoy a full day and evening of culture and activity. Visit a variety of retailers, artist venues and fabulous restaurants, plus music and drinks at all your favorite hot spots!
The June First Friday kicks off the beginning of a busy summer for Downtown! Check out some of the following activities happening downtown this evening.
Downtown Block Party on the Eastbank: Enjoy live music, food vendors, beer and wine for purchase and shopping at some of the most unique stores in Sioux Falls from 5:30 - 10:30pm. Picnic table seating will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair. There will be three bands each evening. Admission is FREE. 8th & Railroad Center, 401 E 8th Street
Downtown Street Musicians: Experience the sounds of live outdoor music at various downtown locations on Fridays and Saturdays in June, July and August. On June 5, enjoy Phaedre at Crawford's. 214 S Phillips Avenue
Horse & Carriage Rides: Relive years past as you pass down Phillips Avenue in a carriage pulled by two majestic horses. Discover simple romance in the heart of your beautiful city. Rides will load at the Plaza by 12th Street and Phillips Avenue from 6:00 - 8:30pm. Cost is $5 per rider. Horse and Carriage rides are provided by Eide Bailly.
Rhythm on the River: Enjoy the sounds of live outdoor music by incredibly talented local musicians every Friday night June-August from 7-9pm at the amphitheater on the Downtown Riverfront between 6th & 8th Street. On June 5, Happy Day Fun Band will perform.
Trolley: The Sioux Falls Trolley is another unique way to discover all of what downtown has to offer. It will run on First Friday from 10am - 8pm, and is just $1 per rider, with kids 5 and under FREE!
Ipso Gallery: Bryan Christiansen is coming to Ipso, and he's bringing animal-shaped mounts and ornamental pelts created from discarded and neglected furniture. Meticulously hand-crafted. Simultaneously haunting and delightful. There's nothing quite like upholstery-based taxidermy to bring a little life to your favorite art gallery. 400 N Main Avenue, Suite 100
Sioux Falls Design Center: The Sioux Falls Design Center is hosting PechaKucha Night Vol. 14 from 6:30 - 9:00pm!. Come down for a fun evening of presentations from some our state's most creative and innovative residents. 108 W 11th Street

Prairie Berry East Bank: Don't miss a special piano performance from Brian Billion on Friday, June 5th! 5-5:30 p.m. & 7:30-8 p.m. on The Frank patio near Prairie Berry East Bank. BRIAN BILLION, student at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC studying piano peformance and 2012 graduate of O'Gorman High School, will be performing on the patio at The Frank on Friday, June 5th. His credits include performances at Carnegie Hall in New York City and participation in competitions in the US and Europe. This summer, Brian will be studying and playing in piano festivals in both Vienna, Austria and Lisbon, Portugal. Zandbroz Variety: Lisa Vande Vegte Dresch and Lois Sayre will be signing their new book "Native American Master Artist Oscar Howe" at Zandbroz Variety. A Look and Learn Book, written and illustrated with younger readers in mind, provides an introduction to Oscar Howe and his Dakota heritage. Signing will begin at 6:00p.m. 209 S Phillips Avenue
Total Drag Records: Come listen to the sounds of three of the Midwest's best rockers at Total Drag Records. Trita, Lunar Plexus and Catylyst will all be featured at tonight's show. Door open at 7:00p.m. Music starts at 8:00p.m. $5 per person. All ages welcome. 307 E 12th Street
